RARITAN VALLEY BASSMASTERS
Monthly Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date: January, 27, 2008 Start Time 9:15 am
Attendees: Jim Bartoltto, Henry Day, Charlie Kolodiy, Bill Smith, P.J. Bartolotto, Dominick Filiano, Andre Libraty, Dave Sommer, Bob Dalrymple, Matt Gadecki Scott Rieger, Rich Tabor
Old Business: No “old” business was carried over from the December meeting.
New Business: A new Club focus and meeting format was presented by the Officer Team.
Going forward, we will adopt more of a Team concept as it relates to fishing events, as opposed to individualized competition. There will be no change to the current event format, point structure and payouts, etc. (all will be business as usual).
Meetings will now focus more on:
Information exchange – discuss fishing.
Specific Lake strategies – discuss upcoming event and review members’ experiences, strategies, etc.
Equipment discussion – discuss new baits, line, etc.
Individualized techniques – members’ share thoughts and/or demonstrate particular techniques that have proven effective for them.
Pattern options – review upcoming events by season, what has worked in the past at similar times, etc.
Etc. The goal is to arm each Club Member with as much information about Bass fishing (in general) and designated Lakes (etc.) with the hope of increasing every angler’s fishing knowledge and ultimately their productivity on the water. After each event, we will publish a brief write-up on what made the top 3 finishers successful that day.
Top 6 Team: Due to membership changes and personal calendar conflicts, the Team representing the 2007 Raritan Valley Bassmasters at the Top 6 Team event (June 26/27) will be:
Scott Rieger (Team Captain & boater)
Elliot Liardo (boater)
Rich Tabor (boater)
P.J. Bartolotto (non-boater)
Dominck Filiano (non-boater)
Bill Smith (non-boater)
2007 Awards: The plaques for the 2007 season were presented to the winners. Six plaques were given out including a special Club award, the 1st “Life Member”:
1st Place – Scott Rieger
2nd Place – Elliot Liardo
3rd Place – Rich Tabor
Lunker Largemouth – Scott Rieger (4.70 lbs)
Lunker Smallmouth – Henry Day (3.42 lbs)
Life Member – Charlie Kolodiy
Reminders: The Mandatory Club Raffle ($40) is due at the February meeting.
Anyone interested in “Raritan Valley Bassmaters” apparel can contact Andre Libraty.
