Looking for captains for Youth events.
Top 6 news. To fish the VT side requires a VT license.
Top 6 news. On VT side, lead weights ½ oz or less are illegal and subject to fines.
Lake and Technique discussion: Lake Hopatcong, NJ - April 13th
*Pre-spawn: season
*Water temperature: seek warmer temps, sheltered bays
*Structure: relate to rocks & wood
*Downsize: use smaller baits
*Slow presentations: finesse baits
*Jerkbaits: suspending
*Crankbaits: wide wiggle, on fluorocarbon
*Bite: subtle
Worm fishing weeds (Scott shared a few of his worm fishing techniques):
*Use good balanced equipment: rod & reel combo
*Fish weed pockets vertically
*Pitch passed pocket & ease lure back in
*Bites occur mostly on the drop
*Fish a tight line (no slack), keep in contact with line
*Be a line watcher
*Peg weight
*Turn off front mount depth finder
Misc:
Boaters must provide proof of insurance to Tournament Director.
